I love going to The Yard for my strength workouts. It’s easy and convenient to simply book a squat rack and takes out all the anxiety and annoyance of having to wait for a rack at a traditional gym. The Yard has most of the equipment I would use at any regular gym (squat rack, dumbbells, ski erg, assault bike, kettlebells..etc.) and the new machines are great enhancements. I’m a runner, cyclist and also do yoga so when looking for a gym I was looking for a place I could do simple strength workouts and The Yard is perfect. The Yard is clean, and the front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. I would recommend the Yard to anyone looking for a great small gym that has all the basics, some extras and a nice community feel.

The Yard is the best! physically, mentally, and with my confidence in the gym. The community here is real, the people are welcoming, and the energy is always on point. The staff is supportive, the atmosphere is motivating, and the owner clearly cares about creating a space that feels unique and positive. Every class and training session pushes you to be better without ever feeling intimidating. This gym is honestly one of the most unique spots in all of San Francisco. The Yard SF on California is hands down one of my favorite workout spaces in the city. The staff is genuinely welcoming, knowledgeable, and always brings great energy—it makes such a difference. The app is incredibly convenient and easy to use, which makes booking and planning workouts seamless. The equipment is top-tier, the space is always spotless, and the overall vibe is motivating without feeling intimidating. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining both the facility and the community. I’ve trained here a few times and this is easily one of the best gyms in San Francisco. The whole concept is super clean and well thought out — the pod system keeps everything organized without feeling crowded, and the new turf area looks amazing. Every session here feels intentional and motivating. The layout, equipment, and overall vibe are top tier and make you actually want to push your workouts instead of just going through the motions. Big shoutout to Juan — he’s great, super knowledgeable, and makes training here even better. The Yard is definitely one of the best gyms in SF to call your place to train.

I've been running my personal training business out of the Yard SF for over 2 years and it's been a great experience. Being able to book a pod that is all for you and your client helps avoid the gym anxiety that comes with beginning a new fitness journey. Also, tsince starting there they've added many upgrades continuously improving the experience. Highly recommend if you're trying to build your training business in the city.
