reviewsWhat Members Say
Members praise the excellent coaching, particularly highlighting owner James and coach Zach for their skill in working with beginners, providing individualized attention, and breaking down movements effectively. They consistently describe a welcoming and inclusive community that makes people of all backgrounds feel safe and respected, though a few note occasional macho types. The spacious facility and supportive atmosphere are frequently mentioned as key strengths, with some suggesting that expanded class times, like adding a 9am session, would improve accessibility for those with tight schedules.

This Box is super spacious and has everything you need. A couple of friends and I are in town visiting and the owner took care of us! I don’t leave too many reviews, but this place definitely deserves a 5 star!

I wanted to give this location such an incredible review. First, as a trans person, I felt quite welcomed by the community and the owner. I visited the gym and considered joining. However, with my work schedule and the class times available, the gym did not align with my schedule. However, if they decide to incorporate a 9am class I will definitely consider joining! Thank you so much for the generosity and kindness!

Pacific Strength (PS) is as much a space for high-quality and skillfully led classes, as it is an exceptional opportunity to build a sense of community. PS has been established and operated based on inclusivity of people of all races, sizes, genders, sexual orientations and nationalities. This is vital for anyone who has ever struggled to have a sense of safety, belonging or basic human respect among their community—either within or outside of a wellness space. The coaches at PS, including James who is the owner, are a team of athletes who have each been on their individual journey of fitness and teach from that experience to reach as many class participants as possible. In each class, they offer positive reinforcement, motivating music for inspiration, variations to meet the fitness level of all participants and individualized attention to ensure safety. A membership at PS can become an investment that begins and/or sustains a healthy lifestyle that can go beyond the doors of PS. This is especially important for those of us who may feel a bit intimidated by going to the gym, unsure of where or how to start working out, need a “refresher” or want a cost-effective way to receive an almost daily well-rounded fitness program and coaching!

I was a member for about two years, and it was basically my first introduction to exercise with weight. James and Zach are both really good coaches, and Zach especially is amazing for working with beginners–he's super skillful at breaking down movements into manageable chunks, helping figure out where your issues are, and giving you something to work on to improve. The best part of the gym is the community. There are a few macho jerk types scattered here and there, but it is largely a wonderfully supportive community of the most amazing diversity. The ability to reach and include more people than other gyms this style is James's special touch.
