Gravity Vault Marin
About
Gravity Vault Marin offers both rock climbing and traditional gym facilities, featuring approximately 80 ropes, 4-6 auto-belays, and a variety of bouldering options. The gym maintains a clean, well-lit environment with good air circulation and ample parking, though recent business openings in the building have increased traffic. Members appreciate the weekly route changes that keep climbing fresh and challenging, along with the availability of excellent instructors for classes and the moderate pricing in the relatively small store. The facility also hosts yoga classes that are noted for being small and well conducted.
reviewsWhat Members Say
Members consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff who provide encouraging belaying and excellent instruction. Many highlight the gym's suitability for families, noting successful birthday parties and the Climbing Merit Badge program for Scouts. However, some beginners express frustration with the belay testing requirements and costs, while a few experienced climbers mention occasional interactions with less knowledgeable younger members. Specific positive mentions include the purple 11d route and the overall cleanliness and route variety.

Really loving this place, it's fantastic. Lots of walls and ropes, many excellent boulders. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and there are always enough people working. Great for kids parties, safe spot for teens. Very clean, fun & challenging routes. About 80 ropes, 4-6 auto-belays. They have excellent instructors for their classes. New routes every week. Store prices are moderate, selection is relatively small. Yoga classes are small and well done. Routes change every week. It's very clean there. Well lit, good air circulation, and plenty of parking (now much busier with opening of other businesses in the building). Good for birthday parties. They also offer the Climbing Merit Badge for Scouts. Try climbing!

We really enjoy Gravity Vault. The staff is helpful and encouraging when they are belaying you. We hosted my son’s birthday party here and it was awesome. We also came to climb during their 3 year anniversary and had a lot of fun.

I go to Gravity Vault whenever I'm in town for business. I use the self-belay system which works well but limits the roped climbing options. Today however, I really enjoyed the purple 11d starting on the blue. It uses clusters of holds and volumes to create an outdoorsy climbing experience.

Mediocre at best. Bunch of kids thinking they know more than a than a 20 plus year climber. Telling me my equipment was old, ATC failures are common Yadda yadda. Spend the time to go to a Touchstone gym. Better route, easier to enter, friendlier.

Not kid friendly. Website features auto kid focus and auto belay options. Showed up on a rainy day, cost added up to $100 for day passes, gear rental, etc. Went to take the belay test and they require full top roping test even to just put kids on auto belay. Probably fine for people who are fully invested in the lifestyle, but not friendly to beginners.
