FITNESS SF - Castro

First time in this gym the staff made me feel very welcomed. The front desk guy Fabricio M. had really good energy and great vibes made the my first time there very welcoming and looking forward to coming back!

Best gym I've ever been to--and I've been going here steadily since around 2005 when, I think, it was still Gold's. Fitness SF Castro, however, is fantastic. It just keeps getting better and better. The equipment is cared for, replaced when old, and this is unquestionably the cleanest gym I've ever worked out at. Excellent cleaning staff and super friendly, helpful front desk staff. I've had four trainers off and on since I've been here and all were excellent. My current trainer, Matt, is terrific. They even let me bring my dog and give him treats. Highly recommended.

I like this gym quite a bit. They have a good selection of equipment, even though the gym itself is small compared to others, the gym is always clean, and the staff is always very friendly. However, I think the new layout of the locker room is quite difficult to navigate when the gym is even moderately busy. The lockers themselves are a good upgrade, but the benches make it extremely difficult to access the lockers If there are even one or two people sitting on them.

This is in general a great neighborhood gym, sufficient equipment and friendly staff and clientele. BUT the new locker room configuration is terribly crowded even when it’s not busy, there is minimal bench space for the lockers and it’s in the middle of the row so everyone has to squeeze by each other to get to and from their locker, even if there are only a couple people there, which is extra spicy when you are naked after the shower… it’s a mind bogglingly poor layout…

Not sure who the new hire is at the front desk with the longer hair, but rolling your eyes at people, groaning, and visibly expressing annoyance is just not a pleasant experience for gym go-ers. Had some issues with my locker opening (twice) and have seen others struggle some times as well. Totally understand staff may have to help people often with this situation, but the way he treats people is just mean. Everyone else has been awfully kind and super nice. Hope his demeanor improves.
