I’ve been coming to Diablo rock gym for years and it has always been the best environment! I’ve honestly met a lot of my closest friends here, and a lot of friendly faces. It’s a super convenient location and has a variety of options to get into climbing for the first time, or for seasoned pros. The prow is a unique leading feature, and I love the classic top rope walls. The new boulder pit is also fun. Honestly I love the yoga room, it’s frequently accessible to stretch and workout and the classes are super nice. The sauna and steam room are usually always empty and such a nice amenity. All of the employees are super friendly and helpful and will make sure you get started climbing correctly. Everyone is super approachable and I’ve become close with some staff members like Tyler and Evan. Truly some of my favorite people! If you get the chance say hi they’re the best, very knowledgeable and fun to talk to. I support them and the positive environment they have curated in this gym despite some issues with touchstone, and I support unionized climbing. Drg has been like a second home to me for so long and I always recommend everyone to check it out!

This gym is an amazing place for climbers of all levels and one of the best community spaces around. The staff are friendly, supportive, and clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell they really care about the climbers, the environment, and making everyone feel welcome and safe. I’m especially proud that the staff are unionized and working together to make this a strong, sustainable workplace. Supporting the people who make this place great helps keep the positive culture alive. More than just a gym, this is an incredible outlet for kids, teens, and adults. It’s a place to stay active, build confidence, manage stress, and connect with a supportive community. The setting is creative, the space is clean and well-run, and the overall vibe is positive and encouraging. If you care about great climbing, great people, and a gym that truly serves its community, this place deserves your support

I’ve been climbing at Diablo Rock Gym for a while now, and it has become more than just a place to train, it’s a community. The setters put up thoughtful, creative routes that challenge you physically and mentally. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in climber growth, whether you’re brand new or projecting your next grade. The gym consistently fosters an environment where people feel supported, encouraged, and safe pushing their limits. What makes a gym like this truly strong, though, isn’t just the walls, it’s the people behind them. Supporting unionization efforts in climbing gyms is important because it ensures that the staff who make these spaces vibrant are protected, respected, and fairly compensated. Route setters, front desk staff, instructors, and maintenance teams are the backbone of the climbing community. When workers have a collective voice, it strengthens communication, improves workplace safety, and ultimately enhances the member experience. Climbing is rooted in trust: we trust our belayers, our gear, and each other. Supporting workers’ rights and unionization reflects those same values of accountability, safety, and mutual respect. A gym community thrives when the people who make it run feel secure and valued. I’m proud to climb at a space where conversations about fairness and sustainability in the industry are happening, because a stronger workforce builds a stronger climbing community.
