I was introduced to YogaBox via a colleague and boyyyyyy was I not ready. Lifting weights at a fast pace in a 93 degree room is not for the novice! But the environment was so uplifting and motivating I've kept at it and there's nothing that feels more amazing than completing a YogaBox workout. S/O to my favorite instructor Junior V who encouraged me to get a membership and keep at it. Bring ice cold water and DO NOT arrive late because they lock the doors at the start of class.

I’ve tried several classes, and they have all been challenging enough otherwise options are provided to explain how to intensify a specific move. They also make sure to ask for permission if you don’t want hands on adjustments, but I personally prefer them. Why pay for a class if the instructor isn’t making sure your form is correct to prevent injury right? Haha Every instructor I’ve had has had a peaceful aura which I think is a must when coming to a yoga class to reset the mind. Heat level is perfect, which is why I keep coming back. Not as hot as hot 8 yoga (from the Los Angeles area) but also not like corepower c1 (which I don’t ever book anymore). If you’re apprehensive, just choose a spot near the door so that when you’re there early, you’re not in the deeper corner of the room heating up extra prior to class. Bathroom is clean. Water dispenser available. Cleaning spray available if you want it. Blocks and weights and resistance bands are available and cleaned regularly. Lockers also available. Check in for class is easy and quick. Other participants have all been friendly. And I’ve witnessed various ages and various stages in fitness journey. I have not encountered any bad vibes or any pretentiousness. The biggest thing that stuck out to me was that during the holidays (when I first started coming) the instructors were cheery and clearly friends with the regulars. Great to see that this studio is truly a community. Tip: if coming after work (I.e., 4:30 PM) make sure to give yourself at least 15-20 minutes to find parking since the lot is a shared lot. Do not arrive late. I respect the studio’s policy around it and will defend them for locking the doors if you arrive late, because it really does disrupt the zen/focus. This is my go-to yoga studio because I always find parking here and it’s situated near street lights that make it easy for me to exit and enter the lot. Otherwise I really enjoy classes that our outside of rush hour because parking is supremely easy at those times

Natalie N. is an exceptional instructor. Her cues, music, and approach to modifications made me feel at ease while recovering from minor hip pain. Throughout the class, she maintained high energy, and the flow was both classically fluid and actively stimulating. I highly recommend Natalie N. for Power Vinyasa Flow classes and Jenna for Recovery Restore at Yoga Box Hillcrest, which has become my new preferred location.
