Electrum Performance is the place for everyone! I had the opportunity to drop in for a lift. The owner Alex and the coaches welcomed me with open arms. You can see people working hard in the gym all the way from pro BJJ athletes to regular gym goers. The coaches are attentive, the vibes are immaculate, and passion for fitness is so infectious that it’s hard not to have a good time! Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun and welcoming community! Worth to note that there are just as many females lifting heavy there as male while I was there!

Before I started at Electrum Performance, my strength and conditioning was all over the place. I’d only do it maybe once a week because I was always sore and tired from jiu-jitsu. I knew I needed a plan that would work with my training, not leave me feeling beat up. Electrum gave me exactly that. Their program is made by jiu-jitsu athletes for jiu-jitsu athletes, so it helps you get stronger, recover faster, and stay healthy for the long run. The coaches also helped me work through old injuries and showed me how to train smarter and build those areas up instead of avoiding them. In just six months, I’m stronger than I was in my 20s, I recover way faster, and I can train more often without feeling wrecked. Now, my strength work goes hand-in-hand with my jiu-jitsu, and it’s made a huge difference in my endurance and performance. The results showed at World Masters. Last year, I didn’t make it past the first round. This year, I fought four matches and took second place. If you want to train smarter, stay consistent, and level up your jiu-jitsu, I highly recommend Electrum Performance.

Electrum Performance Gym is hands down the best fitness facility I’ve ever experienced. The highlight of my time here has been working with Alex Sterner. Alex is incredibly smart and endlessly helpful, guiding me through every session with expertise and care. His knowledge and dedication are particularly evident in his work with injured athletes. I came to Alex with sciatica issues, and his personalized recovery plan was instrumental in helping me regain my strength. I always feel confident and supported under his guidance. Highly recommend Electrum Performance Gym and especially Alex Sterner!

SOLID programming, knowledgable coaches, and excellent facility! I've been strength training for almost 15 years (coaching for 10 of those) and spent the last several lifting on my own - but 3-4 months ago, I decided to join Electrum Performance to take the load off myself and let someone else write the program. So glad I did!! Alex is grounded and balanced in his approach to programming with a solid foundation in evidence based practices. As an extra bonus, Alex and Rodrigo are both highly experienced in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - I'm a brown belt and having coaches who understand the demands of your sport is icing on the cake. I love that my program is unique to me and the gym has all the equipment to make it all happen. Recently I hurt my elbow competing, and Alex helped me modify my workouts to work around it and keep a pragmatic mindset about everything. If you're looking for high quality personal training in San Diego - whether you're new or have tons of experience, check out Electrum Performance!
