I’m training to become a firefighter and was completely new to CrossFit when I started. I began with Coach Rina through private “Elements” sessions, which were incredibly helpful for learning the basic movements and building confidence before jumping into regular classes. Coach Rina and Coach Gavin have both been especially warm, friendly, and encouraging. They do a great job making the gym feel unintimidating, which was really important to me as someone brand new to CrossFit. They’re patient, clear when explaining movements, and always willing to help with scaling so you feel capable and supported. They also hype me up and make me feel as good as the real hardcore athletes. Coach Kaili has also been awesome. He really challenges me to push myself, but always in a way that still feels safe and controlled. I appreciate how he encourages me to work harder while making sure my form and comfort level come first. Beyond the coaching, many members noticed I was new and went out of their way to introduce themselves, encourage me, and help me along. It’s a super welcoming community and a great place to start CrossFit. I’m already hooked and highly recommend it!

Coach Wagner did an awesome job coaching and giving me guidance on improving my OHS. I will return next time I’m in the town. Facility was clean and spacious for everyone in today’s class.

Love CrossFit Counter Culture Encinitas! I haven’t been to CrossFit in a while, but Rina talked to me on the phone about the community which got me excited and Kenny my trainer was so kind and patient with me. I got a great workout!! Everyone in the class was so nice and welcoming. Looking forward to going back.

I joined as a drop-in from abroad, and felt very welcome by the coach Wagner. The warm up was thorough (highly appreciated), and the workout was excellent as well. Planning on joining some more classes with him. From what I can see regarding the programming for this cf-gym, it seems really nice, and you’re able to scale everything if need be. There’s also great opportunity to improve as an athlete. Would highly recommend :)
