Chillino Rock Climbing

The intro to climbing class in mission gorge with Fabian was amazing! Fabi was very precise and confident in teaching us the skills we needed and more to have fun and feel safe and competent climbing in the beginner area. If your looking to enjoy some climbing in San Diego, advance your climbing or just dip your toe in look no further!

My husband and I booked a 4-hour guided climb in San Diego with Chillino; a 4-hour climb guided by Kyle at Mission Trails Park. Kyle was awesome! He was very professional, skilled, and intuitive to our capability. We did plenty of top rope, he taught us additional skills like rappelling, how to belay in lead climbing, and was very clear when explaining the equipment and rigs. Kyle is incredibly friendly, great company and very safe. He was an amazing vocal and demonstrative coach the entire time, ensuring confidence and fun! At the end we had a short review of the session and he gave us great pointers on how we can get better and what our next progress milestone should be. Will definitely be booking again!

If I could give this experience 6/5 stars, I absolutely would! I attended the Chillino Sessions at Mission trails San Diego this past weekend, and it was everything I hoped for and more. While I have indoor climbing experience, I wanted a safe and structured environment to transition to outdoor climbing and develop new skills--and this session delivered. The 15-minute hike up is definitely a challenge, but our guides made sure we took plenty of breaks. Our instructors, Fabi (the owner) and Kyle, were phenomenal. From the start, Fabi asked each of us what we wanted to learn and tailored the session accordingly. I was eager to learn how to set up an anchor, so he took a small group aside to teach us in detail, while Kyle worked with those ready to start climbing. Fabi's instruction was incredibly thorough, and safety was always the top priority--which I really appreciated. On top of anchor-building, I also learned how to rappel safely and execute a proper hand jam in a crack. Both Fabi and Kyle were patient, knowledgeable, and super encouraging. I felt completely safe the entire time, and they were more than happy to answer any questions we had. Now, I'm feeling that satisfying post-climb soreness, and I can't wait to come back! This experience was worth every penny for the skills, confidence, and safety knowledge I gained. Even with a two-hour drive from OC, I'll definitely be back when I get another free weekend. If you're considering booking--do it! And don't forget to tip your guides--they truly deserve it for the incredible experience they provide.

We had an awesome time climbing with Chillino Rock Climbing in Joshua Tree! Our group had a big spread of ages, from kindergarten to middle school, and Fabi and Tiowa managed the age gap beautifully. They made safety a top priority and taught the kids how to tie knots, climb safely, and even rappel — the kids loved it! We really appreciated how patient and encouraging they were with those who needed a slower pace. You can tell that Fabi and his team are truly passionate about climbing and love sharing that passion with the next generation of climbers.
