About

Boulevard Fitness is a neighborhood gym in San Diego that offers a no-frills, affordable training environment with comprehensive equipment and amenities. The facility features a TRX training area, boxing and kickboxing space, CrossFit training area, nutrition supplement store, cardio room, weight room, and fitness classes. Members appreciate that the gym has all the basic equipment needed for effective workouts, including an outdoor space for HIT training, though some note the equipment is older but functional. The gym operates without air conditioning, relying on large garage doors and fans for ventilation during warmer months, which some find challenging during peak summer but manageable overall.

reviewsWhat Members Say

Members consistently praise the friendly, welcoming atmosphere where everyone is focused on their workouts without judgment or distractions. They highlight specific staff members by name, including front desk employees Will, Paul, and Josh, and trainers Sarah, Anthony, Tristan, and Spiro, describing them as approachable, knowledgeable, and contributing to a family-like environment. While most reviews are extremely positive, one member reported frustrating experiences with a particular employee regarding receipt requests and noted the cancellation policy seemed inconsistent, though the gym processed the cancellation quickly. The equipment is described as older but functional, and the lack of air conditioning is mentioned as a minor seasonal inconvenience.

We love this gym. It’s a great, affordable, neighborhood gym that’s got all the basic equipment you need. You can’t beat the price. The staff and clientele are friendly, and I always feels comfortable going there. Will at the front desk is our favorite. He’s always The trainers are warm and welcoming too. Yes, it’s not the most up-to-date gym and there’s no AC, which is only tough for a month or two in the summer. They do have big garage doors, standing fans, and overhead fans going. So if you’re into a no frills gym with a low price point and friendly people, this is the spot.

I’ve been going to Blvd for about a year now, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. It’s not your typical gym, which is exactly what I love about it. The staff truly make the place special. The front desk team especially Paul, Will, and Josh are always so friendly and welcoming. The trainers, including Sarah, Anthony, Tristian, and Spiro, are approachable, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I also really appreciate that the owners, Shawn and Mark are so present and genuinely open to feedback. This gym has honestly become a second family to me, and I always look forward to being there.

Great facility, tons of space, and awesome people. All the staff are super friendly and happy to help if you have any questions. I’ve been loving the outdoor space for HIT workouts and they really have all the equipment anyone would need. Highly recommend!

Only gym in SD where 100% of people are there to put in work. I've been a member for a while, never seen an insta tripod, never had a rude interaction, never felt judged. The equipment is old but functional. The music is good. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I'll never leave.

Do not recommend going here especially if you need a monthly receipt. The older white guy is not helpful at all and doesn’t seem to like his job, not sure why he’s working here. He also always says “oh the printer doesn’t work” and it’s been over a month now. However, when there’s another employee working, the printer works completely fine and they’re always helpful. This guy needs to be fired. You also can’t cancel your membership in person but you can sign up for it in person? Make that make sense. Do NOT recommend. Update 02/04: I’ve noticed an uptick in “good reviews” since posting this review a few weeks ago. I find that hilarious. I’m almost confident they’re trying to save themselves from going down under from all the previous bad reviews. Was also told there would be an investigation conducted from my experience there but I never heard anything back. I’ll give them props for AT LEAST cancelling my membership pretty fast. I noticed the owner commenting on the other “good reviews” on here but not to my review… hmmm… why? Because I’m in the right? Why don’t you get back to me or respond to my review acknowledging your employee who provided unprofessional and horrible customer service lying about the printer simply because he’s lazy? Also, it’s not the fact that I’m upset about the printer. It’s the fact that I probably used this gym 1-3 times in the last 6 months (or more) and only went in person for a receipt once a month due to my work requiring it as part of the benefit. If y’all offered an online receipt or something then I wouldn’t have even ‘bothered’ someone in person for a receipt. It’s wild that I walk in, nicely just ask for a receipt, and the SAME employee immediately gets upset because he has to actually work.
