About

Selfish Pilates is a Sacramento studio specializing in reformer Pilates with small class sizes that create a semi-private training environment. The studio offers a diverse range of classes including jump board, mat work, weights, stretching, and traditional reformer sessions, with each 45-minute class carefully choreographed to work the upper body, lower body, and core efficiently. Instructors provide personalized attention, correcting form and offering modifications for individual needs such as knee or hip flexor issues, while also demonstrating how to increase difficulty for those seeking more challenge.

reviewsWhat Members Say

Members consistently praise the exceptional instructors by name, highlighting Bella, Melika, Marissa, Mari, Molly, and Brandy for making classes unique, challenging, and fun. They appreciate the small class sizes that allow for personalized attention, with instructors correcting form and offering modifications while demonstrating how to increase difficulty. Reviewers report significant strength gains and core development, describing workouts as perfectly choreographed 45-minute sessions that leave them feeling empowered and "sore in the best way." The only minor concern mentioned is being too sore to attend daily, which members frame as a testament to the workout's effectiveness rather than a genuine complaint.

I love this place. Coming here sets the tone for the rest of the week. Bella seems to know exactly what I need because every class has been challenging but so satisfying. I have felt myself getting stronger and love knowing the modifications are there, but now not needing them as much. Every girl that works there is encouraging and makes me feel like I could run through a wall. I’m so glad I found this studio.

By far the best Pilates studio I have ever been to. All of the instructors are amazing. They’re so helpful and kind. There is a good variety of classes to choose from. The classes are small and personal which makes it easy for instructors to help each person without feeling lost in a large group setting. My only complaint is that I’m too sore to go everyday! Love it here!

This studio was my introduction to reformer Pilates and I absolutely love it. From my first class with Bella to now having had classes with every instructor, I always look forward to moving my body mindfully. Bella, Melika, Marissa, Mari, Molly, and Brandy all make their classes unique, challenging, and, best of all, fun. I’m so much stronger thanks to them, and I cannot live without my selfish time anymore.

Started with Pilates last July when this studio opened just minutes from my house. There are only 5 reformers which means the classes are more along the line as being semiprivate. The instructors correct your form and make adjustments if you have knee or hip flexor issues, etc. There is a wide assortment of different classes offered, from jump board, mat, weights, stretch and the regular reformer Pilates classes. Each teacher has a different feel and each one is excellent. The teachers encourage but are mindful that this is just Pilates and not life or death. The classes are all perfectly choreographed and 45 minutes zips by. In that 45 mins you'll have worked your upper and lower body and your core. You will be sore but in the best of way. The teachers instruct ways on how to make each exercise more difficult so the classes are great for all levels at the same time. The community is very supportive and varied: from students and young professionals to retired folk. Since the classes are so small, the exercises can be tailored to each student's abilities. The studio is clean and relaxing and a great addition to our Arden/Del Dayo neighborhood.
