Nothing but the best of people who work as a team to care about others. My personal encounter with each of them has been exceptional from the administration to the instructors and all the staff I have come across. Keep doing what you are doing let’s make a change in this world by treating people with humanity and kindness..it does not get unnoticed. Proud of them all. Reach for the stars and keep shining. God bless them all!

It’s crazy how fast time passes by; I can vividly remember when the pandemic was announced and how businesses reacted. Some businesses succumbed to it, some operated as if it didn’t exist, and some businesses implemented innovative approaches to ensure that business safely (keyword) continued. In-Shape Family Fitness (formerly known as California Family Fitness) did a great job of pivoting by moving all of its equipment outdoors. Yes there were some challenges with having equipment outdoors (i.e., being subjected to the current weather, the poor air quality due to nearby fires, and the occasional bug on equipment); however, it kept the facility in operation and allowed for us die-hard “athletes” to keep our bodies in shape. With that being said I have been at this facility for four years and there are many reasons why I retain my membership, the following is one of the reasons why. Since I have been a member at In-Shape Family Fitness, I have noticed that the gym has made both subtle and not so subtle upgrades. The subtle upgrades being bringing in newer equipment to replace older equipment and having rare equipment such as having a Deadlift Bar Jack that makes it easier to load and unload a barbell. The non-subtle upgrade being the recent transformation of the gym’s floor plan. Previous to the revamp, equipment such as dumbbells were located in two different areas in the gym, equipment was fairly close to one another (cramped), and there was very little open space (this made it hard to find an area to stand without impending on another member’s personal space). Post-revamp the dumbbells are in one central location, equipment has an adequate amount of space away from other equipment, and there is so much open space that you can grab an exercise mat and do a workout in almost any area on the main floor without fear of injuring yourself and/or another member. Although there were some temporary inconveniences, the facility did a great job of staying in operation while being under construction. This was a big win for me because the next closest In-Shape Family Fitness (close to Interstate 5) is not convenient for me to access. Even though monthly dues have increased since signing up in 2020, it makes total sense when you see the upgrades that have been made to the gym (and that continue to be made) since I became a member. By no means am I being insensitive about the fact that inflation has made it difficult for many people to hang onto luxuries such as a gym membership, I’m just making an observation. Big THANK YOU to facility manager Brandon and assistant manager Antonio for successfully facilitating such a large project. Also, I want to give a big shout-out to customer service representatives Jeremy and Shirley for never being too cool to consistently + warmly acknowledge members as they enter and leave the facility. It’s these little gestures of kindness that keep members like me coming back…keep up the good work In-Shape Family Fitness Bond Road!

I’ve been to different gyms over the years this one by far is my favorite. It’s clean plenty of machines to work out on I love that they have two pools , a sauna and a steam room. And their staff is so friendly and helpful. I’ve worked with two trainers so far both were awesome Kyle and Schaun .

Love in-shape. Between Elk Grove n Bond location, I take several classes. The bond gym needs some serious rule on re-racking weights. People take the weights out of the excercise room n it’s all over . Then we can’t find weights . The vtl area has its own set of weights, but u can never find them. There are weights sitting in sauna? Why? And if you take them, take the weights back. No one re-racks the weights. My biggest pet peeve. Can’t even find weights at 5:30am. People don’t wipe down. And they sit on ma Hines scrolling forever . Also the gym needs rules on being mindful of people around u, and take it loud long phone calls outside. Ppm be sitting on machines just chatting n scrolling on phone. People be hella loud at 6am in sauna. Be courteous of other ppl, use inside voices. Why the hell u all yelling so early. Smh.

The African American lady that works at the front desk in the evenings is rude. I asked her what time the steam room closes (because I thought I heard them announce the steam room is closing) and she looked at me as if I was attacking her. When she realized I was confused about what was announced she disparagingly told me it’s the kids club. Then looked away and started typing on her computer while I was still standing in front of her. This lady needs to be retrained on customer service and learn to have some respect for the customers that are playing close to $100 per month to attend their gym. I understand that some people were not raised to respect others and it seems she is one of them. So if you feel that it is right to disrespect your customers, then I feel it’s fair to announce that disrespect in a review on Google. I will be visiting weekly and look forward to seeing this lady after it comes to her attention that I left this review about her and my experience at this gym. If I notice that she changes her attitude and shows some respect over time, I will gladly edit this review or leave one with 5-stars. But if she keeps the disrespect alive then I have four more family members and friends that will also be leaving 1-star reviews. Hopefully, management sees this review and disciplines this lady about her negative attitude or forces her to correct it.
