Incredible coaching and real results — not a gimmick gym I’ve been going here for about 3 months and I already feel noticeably stronger, more capable, and far more resilient in day-to-day life. The term “functional fitness” sometimes gets a bad rap — it can sound like you’re just training to stand up from a chair confidently. Sure, you’ll be able to do that, but this place goes way beyond that. There’s a legitimate strength component that reminds me of the structured programming I loved at SF Iron in San Francisco. Classes are small (max 6 people) and genuinely feel like semi-private training. The equipment is excellent, there’s tons of space, and you never feel rushed or lost. Randy is a fantastic coach — he watches your form, adapts movements when needed, and pushes you the right amount so you get stronger without getting hurt. The community is another huge plus: friendly, supportive, zero ego. It’s refreshing to be in a gym where people are focused on getting better, not showing off. And being located right in Land Park, it really feels like part of the neighborhood instead of some distant, soulless studio. If you’re imagining something like Orange Theory’s sweaty chaos or CrossFit’s “max intensity at all costs” approach — this is the opposite. No nonsense, no burnout, no injury roulette. Just smart, well-coached training that makes you powerful and well-rounded. For the level of coaching and quality of programming, the price is honestly a steal. I’d happily pay more. Highly recommend if you want to get seriously strong and stay that way.

Randy is an awesome coach, and he definitely puts a lot of effort into creating workouts that are fun and effective for his clients. I was a little intimidated at first to get back into working out after a long hiatus, but it’s obvious that he is passionate about fitness and coaching, and he’s done a great job creating an environment that is very welcoming to all. During group classes he still gives each person the attention they might need to keep them healthy and engaged, and he has helped me perfect my form and movements so that I can perform the exercises safely while coming back from a work related injury. It seems like he really cares about his clients, and his workouts have been a ton of fun!
