reviewsWhat Members Say

Members consistently praise the knowledgeable and attentive coaching, particularly highlighting owner Chris for his personalized approach and ability to work with specific needs like post-surgery recovery. The gym is celebrated for its tight-knit, friendly community atmosphere and extensive amenities including recovery rooms with saunas and cold plunges. However, some reviewers express concerns about facility maintenance, noting a dark and stuffy cardio room, deferred upkeep, and occasional management issues like unstaffed hours and unresponsive customer service for class refunds. The presence of "Sandy" the labradoodle is frequently mentioned as a charming bonus.

This gym is an oasis and provides a broad range of fitness activities, whether that’s yoga/pilates, power lifting, Olympic lifts, HIIT, cardio etc. Besides the tight knit feel, one of my favorite things about East Sac Fitness was the wellness room in the back—so needed for recovery and relaxation! Definitely recommend

On top of owning a small business that is open 24/7 and having limited time for self-care, I also had back surgery about 12 years ago. Finding a gym with skilled trainers that understand my specific needs and the process to helping me get and stay strong are SO important. AND finding a gym with hours that work with my crazy schedule has been difficult. I don't have time for set backs. The owner Chris is remarkable. He listens, he's knowledgeable, he came with a plan! In the past, trainers quickly had me using weights that didn't isolate using my lower back. Chris has EVERY machine that can isolate any area that you need to protect while getting you strong! I feel fantastic! I can't wait for my training days and to be in the gym! It's a large space, three separate areas to workout in, you aren't on-top of other people, everyone is friendly, no unpleasant attitudes, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. In addition to the cross fit, weight and cardio rooms, there is yoga, a sauna, and those ice tanks you sit in. Whatever you need, East Sac Fitness has it! You won't be disappointed!

I love this gym! Highly recommend taking the classes because they have coaches that will guide you and make sure you're doing everything safely. They also have spin and yoga classes, too. Its clean, it has all the equipment you need and the owner Chris is always looking for new ways to improve the experience. One of my favorite parts is the recovery room with a cold plunge and sauna. Its a GREAT community gym. I love this place!

This is a great facility with excellent trainers and equipment. Conveniently located, this gym is clean and as everything I need. There are extended classes and training programs, as well as the core, day-to-day physical conditioning equipment. It's a positive atmosphere for users of all ages and experience. I strongly recommend East Sac Fitness and am very happy to have it and especially happy to use it. Thank you!

Pros: this gym is a welcome addition to East Sac. It has a good community feel and it’s evident that a lot of members know each other. That said, there is a lot of needed improvement. Most significant, the cardio room is dark, windowless and stuffy - just one fan and dusty HVAC equipment. It’s fine if you go early in the morning, but it’s not a good a place to escape a hot day. The gym itself has a “iron gym” vibe - all gray and black and lots of obvious deferred maintenance, all male trainers, but the equipment is good (mostly free weights and basic machines). The gym is not regularly staffed, and of it is, it’s not clear who works there. Anyone can walk in, which is concerning. The gym offers yoga, but the teacher never showed to the class I signed up for (and I’m still waiting for a response to my request for a refund almost three weeks later). Overall, the gym just feels like it’s lacking good management and facility maintenance, but has endless potential. I’d love to see more classes for us non-gym rats: maybe mat pilates, etc. “Sandy,” the resident labradoodle is very sweet.
