Yoga Circle in DTLA has been my go-to place to recharge and heal. I think of it as my magic spot, my hideaway - the space itself feels really great! The instructors demonstrate care and connection with the students and it's evident that they're committed to their own yoga practice. I've enjoyed classes from Stephen, Knekoh, Rob, and Jacqui - my favorite is Stephen's Yin Flow class as it's harder to find a good Yin class among the many faster-paced options out there. Yoga Circle Downtown is the real deal! Go support this local studio, enjoy the experience, and heal yourself.

UPDATE FOR STREAMING CLASSES: "It never gets easier. You just get stronger." This is my third review for Yoga Circle. I keep reviewing this studio because quite frankly, Knekoh and her teachers are both excellent and constantly adapting and innovating. Following are some brief comments on the streaming classes and below is my original review. Like you might be doing, I wondered, at first if live stream classes were for me. Taped exercise classes can be rote and I find it challenging to both be in the moment and actually learn new exercise. Why then, is a stream different? Here's what I've learned: *Joining fellow students and attending remote class brings more energy to the practice. There is a community at Yoga Circle and it is beautiful to see these folks return again and again to practice together. *Knekoh and her team are dynamic and are constantly updating the practice to include new ideas and new techniques. They are also amazingly positive even in these unprecedented times. Even as a "veteran" student I am constantly learning and experiencing new things. As mentioned in other reviews, there are a variety of classes to suit how you are feeling in this moment, in this time. *The teachers are trained in teaching from the mat and have adapted to the online forum. Unlike a taped exercise class, there is time given to watch and absorb the technique. You do not need to rewatch or learn on your own. It is being taught in a moment where you can see and learn the technique. Knekoh cues a short break so you do not crane your neck! Each of the teachers in their own way have adapted to the online platform so demonstrations are easy to follow and implement. Support a world-class local business. Do something kind for your body. Be in this moment and experience joy. These are my reasons for Yoga Circle. And as I learned early on, it doesn't get easier. But I feel stronger and able to be present and balanced in this time. Thank you, Knekoh, Rob, Jacqui, and Stephen. Asaf /// I first reviewed Yoga Circle Downtown on Yelp on October of 2016. If you want to see my initial impressions, you can locate my first review there. Eight months later (June 2017), I am pleased to say that I have continued a daily practice. In only one or two instances have I come to class less than 5 times a week. It has changed my posture, but more importantly, it has given me a much better understanding of Yoga and its benefits. I use simple concepts like breathing to other tools like bhavana (positive thinking principles) on a daily basis as well and it has helped me through the changes in my own personal life. I have taken classes with most, if not all of the teachers. A few words on the instructors I know best: Knekoh is the owner of the studio and has a generous heart. I feel safe in her classes at the same time that I always learn something new. Rob teaches about Yoga in part through an examination of the words, and I appreciate his range-of-motion exercises. It's great for someone who works in an office! Maya challenges her students, and after a vigorous class, I love hearing her wonderful singing voice. The space itself is a spacious and beautiful hardwood floor studio in the historic San Fernando building. There are blankets, bolsters, straps, and other accessories that are incorporated into class. I am so happy for my decision to be a part of Yoga Circle. Hope to see you there!

I loved attending classes at Yoga Circle Downtown and was so excited that many of my favorite teachers have continued to teach streaming donation-based classes during the Covid-19 closures via zoom, Instagram, and Facebook live. The online classes have been so easy to adapt to (and I’m not great with technology...) and I’ve actually been taking more classes because of the ease and convenience of practicing from home. Knekoh, the studio owner, has helped me strengthen my practice in unexpected ways, hosting ashtanga, kundalini, and inversion workshops alongside flow and meditation classes. Rob continues to lead chants and beautiful flows and Stephen and Jacqui’s classes will challenge you to get strong from home! Please continue to support small businesses like this one!

This place is the real deal, old school yoga studio ! I was a student at yoga circle for more then 2 years before I moved away from LA. Knekoh who owns, runs and operates the studio is incredible and has an amazing team of teachers. I love it here and it’s the most down to earth studio in LA

Jaqui was teaching, started off boring and normal and slowly kicked my ass by the end. The best workout I’ve ever gotten from yoga, so sore the next day, could not hold myself up by the end. Cardio and strength, highly recommended!
