Veda offers a haven for everyone—those who are looking for a vigorous practice, those looking for a healing practice and a true community for those who need it. Every teacher I’ve experienced is generous, compassionate and authentic, clearly guided by the teacher training in a way that makes all feel welcome. This is a place you will return to. The infrared heating is just right, the lighting and music inspiring, and the variety of classes for yogis at all phases. I started by taking Vinyasa 1 classes after returning to yoga after two decades of little exercise and illness, and after two months was ready to take Vinyasa 2. I’ve taken classes with Kumi, Tracy, Jill, Jaya, Meg and others and they are all wonderful guides.

In my personal opinion. This is the best Yoga studio in Los Angeles. It has become a second home to me. Kumi is an incredible teacher. I would highly recommend anyone to try out this studio.

I go religiously to the La Cienega location. Parking is free and ample. The people are so friendly, welcoming and supportive. The space is so cozy and well-designed. My go-to class is Sculpt w/ Johanna, but I love that Veda has an eclectic roster of other classes and events.

I've been to the original Veda on Venice before, and I'm happy to see them open up another location! There's easier parking at this location because of the multistory parking garage, which is nice since I was usually running late to the Venice classes when I couldn't find street parking. This studio is also so new and SO NICE. Like I'm pretty ambivalent about spaces, but I literally gasped when I saw the practice room; it was so gorgeous! If you're a beginner to yoga, Veda is also a nice place to start. The instructors are very clear and kind, and if you let them know beforehand, they can keep an eye on you and help adjust your form. I also enjoy the heated yoga here, because it helps you get a bit of sweat in, without going overboard. Overall 10/10! Hope to visit again soon.

Veda used to be a great non-corporate studio but things have changed the last couple of years. The Venice Blvd classes can get so packed that you’re sandwiched between others (would be nice if they limited number of attendees). There used to be parking available at Venice at the copy/print lot across the street but that ended months ago and street parking can be really challenging to find. On top of this, classes reward attendees who are late. Doesn’t matter if you come on time, they’ll wait until everyone’s checked in to start. This means the class oftentimes ends late. I left at the expected time the class was supposed to end, and got CALLED OUT in front of everyone and firmly asked if I could “fold my mat outside,” as if my 5 seconds of rolling my mat was a disturbance to the class that started late (and was a disturbance to my schedule and my time). If I leave late (but actually on time because the class is supposed to end a certain time), I would hope not to be shamed for it. Also, it should not be surprising to the instructor that people have to leave at a certain time if they start the class late. It’s annoying that they’d expect our personal schedules to accommodate the late-comers. Johanna, your classes are great, but rudeness is a turn-off. Jill, on the other hand, prob my favorite instructor because she’s always so welcoming and kind.
