Reach For The Barres
About
Reach For The Barres in Los Angeles operates as both a gym and a barre studio, offering a range of dance-focused fitness and training programs. The studio is known for its structured seasonal programs that culminate in well-organized performances, alongside smaller themed events throughout the year. Many members, particularly families with children, describe it as a second home where long-term relationships are built, with some dancers participating for nearly a decade from early childhood through high school. The coaching staff, led by Reyana, receives consistent praise for being talented, kind, and passionate, creating an environment where students feel safe, happy, and proud of their progress. The studio offers classes for various age groups, including mommy-and-me sessions for young children and independent classes for older students, focusing on teaching responsibility, confidence, and multiple dance styles. Members frequently highlight the joy of watching younger dancers grow and perform, noting the studio's role in fostering friendships and a strong sense of community. However, one review raises a significant concern about diversity and inclusion, suggesting the studio may not adequately nurture brown and black dancers, which contrasts with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from other families.

Reach for the Barres is not only a dance studio I danced at for 9 years, it was my second home… the place I graduated elementary, middle, and high school through, the place that taught me how to take responsibility and work with kids, and the place that I met some of my best and closest friends. Yes through my time here I have learned countless dance styles and choreographed numbers I still like to do to this day… but to me the most important thing I have gotten the opportunity to witness is watching kids younger than me grow up at this studio. Seeing their faces light up when they get the chance to perform and the joy in their eyes when they are so focused on what they love to do is inspiring to my life. Watching some of them grow from 4 year olds to now 9 year old dancers has been a whirlwind of emotions, not only proud but emotional seeing them grow up.

My niece loves this studio!!! Reyana and her staff are amazing with the kids. The shows they put on are so well organized and super fun - we look forward to them at the end of each season. My niece can't stop talking about how much she is learning. She has made so many new friends. Her confidence is up and she's so proud of herself - and that's all to do with Reyana and her staff. I would highly recommend this studio for kids of all ages.

Best school ever! All teachers are talented and kind. My little one feels so happy there. We took mommy and me classes a year ago which was an amazing experience. And now my daughter continues dance classes here on her own. Can’t recommend enough this wonderful dance studio!

If you’re looking for a safe and fun studio to be a part of this is it. Reyana and her wonderful , friendly staff have been in my daughters life for almost 5 years! We couldn’t be happier at the production they put at the end of the season . Let’s not Work at the small performances they have throughout the year for Christmas Halloween and more. The studio is filled with passionate people

Sorry Reach for the Barres did not value the diversity we had hoped and does not nurture brown and black dancers. So glad we enrolled her in DADA who values, welcomes and nurtures my beautiful brown granddaughter.
