About

Orangetheory Fitness in Los Angeles offers high-intensity interval training classes that combine rowing, treadmill work, and strength training. The studio focuses on guided group workouts where members can follow structured routines without having to plan their own exercises. Coaches lead sessions with motivating music and provide options for different fitness levels, allowing participants to work at their own pace while still being challenged. The facility features recently updated equipment, including treadmills with surface touch controls, though some members report technical issues with these interfaces during intense workouts.

reviewsWhat Members Say

Members consistently praise the welcoming atmosphere and excellent coaching staff, with specific mentions of coaches Kaitlin and front desk employees Noah and Emma creating a non-intimidating environment. Many appreciate the structured workouts that allow them to exercise without planning, though some express concerns about insufficient warm-up guidance and technical issues with the treadmill controls. Several reviewers report frustration with membership policies, including confusing cancellation terms that can extend beyond 30 days, lack of prorated refunds, and charges for late class cancellations. While long-term members love the effective workouts and supportive staff, others note challenges with class availability requiring advanced booking and occasional cleanliness observations in the facility.

Been a member at this studio for 5+ years. The staff is incredible and I feel so good after every class! If you’re like me and you just want to walk in a gym and not think, this is the place for you.

Wow! The team here went above and beyond when I came for my trial. Such a friendly environment and not intimidating like many other studios, so huge shout out to Noah and Emma behind the desk. Would definitely recommend this place to all levels! Kaitlins class was AMAZING. I didn’t look at the clock once. You can very much go at your own pace whilst challenging yourself. The music was fab as well so it actually felt like a FUN class which is often hard to come by. 5 STARS ALL ROUND!

I had a great time here, everyone’s super friendly. I really enjoyed the classes but the agreements need complete work. No wonder why they keep closing locations, like the West Hollywood one. One of the issues I faced was not having enough time to complete work outs or have enough time on the treadmill. As much as it’s nice someone pushing you to do better, I’m overweight and have to go at a certain pace. I was gaining lbs there for two months compared to my little daily home workouts. I don’t recommend joining though, they keep a lot of important information out about memberships. Like you have to keep the membership for two months at least and cancel 30 days before hand. So if you cancel 10 days before you’re charged, they don’t prorate, they charge you the full amount of the next month. They change your membership without having you sign an agreement when you’re on the fence about it. And have the complete inability to accommodate any changes or work with you on a solution even if you told them you were looking to cancel over a month in advance and have the document stating the date of cancellation. Plus if you miss a class or cancel within 8 hours of it they charge you $15. Also, they don’t appear to clean their gym. The last few times I went there was this huge dust pile in the corner of the floor that kept growing. No wonder why phones aren’t permitted in the gym area.

My experience with them was so terrible I don't know where to start. - They don't believe in warmup so I actually ended getting hurt on the rower because the coaches don't bother to check on anyone. And I am not a beginner, so if you are, definitely steer away. - The strength classes are always waitlisted by 7 plus people so unless you are booking two weeks in advance, you can't book. - They changed their treadmills very recently to surface touch buttons except that the buttons are neither touch or buttons, so if you are running over 7 miles, good luck turning the treadmill off without falling. Because of all of these issues I asked them to cancel my membership which they ask for 30 days(which I am okay with), except that apparently that is 30 days until the next billing cycle which means I would have to wait for 55 days or so. When I told them that this is not what I signed up for, they canceled immediately. I signed up June 30th and one of the days they were closed for the treadmill setup. So I paid $189 for 5 days of workouts. That is a hefty price for mediocre level workout but it is what it is. AVOID at all costs.
