I feel the need to respond to the review by the woman who felt negatively towards the tattoo on the instructor. By having the tattoo of the OM symbol on the top of the foot, it serves as a constant reminder to the instructor the meaning of his teaching. It is visible to him throughout class in almost every pose. As someone who has been practicing yoga for over 25 years, the last few years with this instructor have been the most rewarding. He takes the time to make everyone feel welcome, included and safe. I know how he makes sure that any student with an injury or special need is catered to during the class. There is a true sense of community each time I enter the studio. If you are looking for a yoga studio, this is the one to come to.

As someone new to yoga, I have to let everyone know this place is amazing. All of the instructors I practiced with were encouraging and recommended multiple adjustments to accommodate individual needs and skill level. This is a judgment free zone, so if you want a small family vibe where staff and fellow attendees know who you are by name, this is a hidden gem! The only reason I will no longer be attending is that I am relocating, but if I could selfishly put HOMTOWN Yoga in my U-Haul and move it right beside my new place, I absolutely would.

This review is in response to the woman who was negatively affected by the om symbol tattooed on the yoga instructor. I’ve been practicing Yoga for 10+ years and this is the most passionate and professional yoga instructor I’ve experienced in all my yoga practices. He understands the practice of Yoga with the breath the mind and the spirit coming together within ones body. I highly recommend you experience one of his classes.

HOMTOWN Yoga has been the game changer that I needed to feel completely balanced and conplete. My favorite class is on Fridays with Jennifer. I always walk out with my cup full and especially love that they offer sound bath within that class! An overall great environment and Maddie (owner) is the sweetest! Super supportive, kind and personable. Very grateful to be part of the HOMTOWN Yoga Community!

I felt deeply uncomfortable after attending a yoga class at this studio due to cultural insensitivity. The instructor had a prominent Om symbol tattooed on his foot. In Hindu culture and faith, the Om is sacred. Placing it on the foot is widely considered disrespectful. Yoga originates from Hindu traditions, and cultural respect matters, especially in a space that financially benefits from those roots and teaches yoga practices. This felt like a significant oversight and raises concerns about how deeply the owners and teachers understand or respect the origins of yoga or the importance of inclusivity. It would have been offensive in any context, but was particularly shocking in a yoga studio. I hope ownership takes this seriously and takes concrete action to correct the situation and improve its cultural awareness. Until then, I would not feel comfortable attending this studio again or recommending it to others.
