I did their Hyrox class this past weekend and was blown away by everything: how warm and welcoming everyone was, the regimented nature of it with a warmup and intro for new folks, and the way it mimicked a real Hyrox. I’m not local and this was my first Hyrox class but these guys have set the bar high for what I expect from future Hyrox classes. Couldn’t recommend it more and will be coming back the next time I am in town.

Dropped in for a weekend of classes with JP and the Ganbatte crew. Tl:dr; if you want to work hard and improve your overall fitness, hit up Ganbatte for the best programming and athletic community the eastside has to offer. Pros: - Challenging yet scalable weekly programming for a broad range of fitness goals: strength, endurance, metcon, weightlifting etc. If you’re training for Hyrox or another fitness competition, this is where you want to be. - I worked with JP for Hyrox training and Eric for strength. Both coaches intro’d themselves, assessed my fitness background, checked if I had any injuries, and asked about goals. Immediately it felt like I was in good capable hands and prepped to get to work. Coaching was well organized, well described, and full of helpful but not overbearing cues and encouragement during the workouts. - Well organized facility with ample floor and rack space, well maintained and cared for equipment (big thumbs up for Eleiko bumpers + barbells), water filtration, and a vending machine with recovery products. - best of all: a hard working, kind, and fun community atmosphere where everyone is pushing each other to do their best. This was my first time here and people took the time to learn my name and then use it to cheer me on through a 60+ min Hyrox specific workout. Hard not to push yourself in that environment. Cons: - I don’t live in LA and can’t make this place my regular gym! If you live near Ganbatte and are interested in building your fitness or broaching the world of fitness competition, this is the place to be. Shouts out to BG, You-niss, & JP.

I joined Ganbatte two years ago when I was in the worst shape of my life - overweight, not eating correctly and lethargic, but with the *idea* that I wanted to become a better version of myself. I took an intro course with Nile (a literal queen) and now I’m PRing my lifts, cut over 20min from my half marathon time and did my first Hyrox, placing in the top 11 percent of my age group. I fully credit the coaches - especially JP and Eric - for pushing me to not only train hard, but learn my body and how to fuel it, rest it, and take better care of it. More than just a place to work out, it’s become a true community of friends who are consistently encouraging you to be better. Highly recommend for anyone, from beginner to seasoned athlete.

I came in knowing almost nothing about fitness, and the coaches here changed that completely. They guide you through everything—workouts + proper form—so you’re never left guessing or risking injury. At first I was intimidated, but the community is so welcoming, it's more than a gym. Works for all levels—beginner to expert—and you get 10x back for the effort you put in.
