About

Cardio Barre offers a unique fitness experience combining gym and barre studio disciplines under the guidance of founder Richard Giorla, a dancer and choreographer with over 30 years of experience. The studio focuses on full-body workouts that challenge participants with cardio-intensive barre routines. Members appreciate the solid dance background of the instructors, though some beginners note that teaching styles can vary, with less hands-on adjustment than expected in introductory classes. The workout itself receives consistent praise for being effective and engaging for those who enjoy this style of exercise.

reviewsWhat Members Say

Members consistently praise the full-body workout as effective and engaging, with specific instructors like Courtney, Christina, and Jess receiving high marks for their teaching. Some beginners find the instruction less accessible due to limited hands-on adjustment in classes. Administrative experiences vary significantly, with reports of rude staff, inconsistent communication about class packages, and confusion over expiration dates conflicting with the positive training feedback.

After having a positive experience at Richard Giorla's Hiit!! Gym, my friend and I thought we would try his cardio barre establishment, Cardio Barre. We purchased their in-house version of the Groupon deal, 5 classes for about $35-$40 (I can't remember exactly). Again, we purchased the classes via their front desk employee so there was no fine print, all that was said was that we had a year to use to classes and to "enjoy". My friend and I continued to go to classes, albeit neither one of us really liked the classes, but hey, we paid for them, might as well give it the full try and once we were out, we'd move on to something else. Not every workout is meant for everyone. I will say this, the teachers are solid dancers, but not the best at teaching their art form (again, this is totally ok...teaching and doing are very different) if you're a beginner it's hard to really know what is going on because the teachers do not make a point to adjust or assist. I only went to beginner classes so i could not speak to all classes. However, that is not my issue with this establishment. My issue is that, the staff was a mixture of extremely rude, they lacked consistency and communication. After a few classes in I couldn't remember if we were on class 3 or 4 and wanted to double check how many classes we had left. I called the front desk, and spoke to one of the employees and they let me know that we in fact were on class 3 and we had 2 left. I asked when the classes expired and the employee told me that they expired on 11/8/19 -- not a year as previously quoted. When we arrived to our 4th class, I mentioned it my friend who was also told we had a year to use them, we asked the front desk employee if she could clarify - she looked up our accounts, and let us know that whoever sold us the packages sold them as a regular class package at the Groupon price which is why there was confusion, however, as it was - our passes were good for a year and that they would honor it. A day later, I get an email from Cardio Barre stating that my last pass was about to expire on 11/8/19. SO, I call AGAIN -- to clarify when my actual expiration date was. As I was about to leave town I wanted to make sure I could use my last class. I left a voicemail and when I got a call back on 10/31 an extremely rude woman was on the other line. When I explained the situation again, her first response was that I should have read the fine print. When I reiterated how I bought the classes, she sighed and said that it was common knowledge that Groupon classes were not the same as actual class packages. After I mentioned that I bought it at the studio and the information that I had was all given by their staff - she cut me off and said that she would extend my package this one time so that I could use it, then hung up on me before I could say anything else. Between the constant back and forth regarding our class packages, rude conduct, and so-so classes neither my friend or I went back to claim and use the last class. The reason why I gave it 2 stars was because Courtney and Christina were good class leaders.
