About

Boulderdash Indoor Rock Climbing offers both gym and rock climbing gym disciplines, with a focus on top rope climbing and a smaller bouldering section featuring over 30 routes across varying difficulties. The facility maintains a very clean environment and provides classes for those new to climbing, including belay instruction and sessions where staff members belay for children. Route setters receive praise for creating fun and engaging top rope routes that appeal to both regular climbers and visitors.

reviewsWhat Members Say

Members consistently praise the gym's friendly atmosphere and exceptionally supportive staff, particularly highlighting coach Frank by name for his patient, encouraging approach with children during belay classes and climbing sessions. Reviewers appreciate the clean facility, fun top rope routes, and staff's ability to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining a welcoming environment for families and scout groups. Some climbers note the bouldering section is smaller than the top rope area and could use more beginner problems, while occasional visitors mention having to retake belay tests after six month absences though they found the process quick and well managed.

Started coming to Boulderdash recently with my kids. The gym had a great friendly environment, and the staff had been so helpful. Frank did our belay class and he taught the process and safety in a way that was easy to remember. He also is super encouraging with the kids during classes. Would recommend

My son is not good really coordinated. He is afraid of falling and had hard time coming down. Frank was super supportive and patient with him. My son came to me with a smile and told me that I have to give a five star to Frank. We had been to this place many times with our scout troop and Frank made this time the most memorable one. Frank is so good with kids and so encouraging, too. I appreciate his service.

I usually climb at Touchstone gyms in LA and the SF Bay Area, but have been to Boulderdash twice when visiting family in the area. My partner and I really enjoy it. The top rope routes are fun and I think the route setters do a great job. It’s a little annoying that we had to retake the belay test because it had been over 6 months since our last visit, but it was very quick and the nice staff member (didn’t get his name) prioritized getting us tested in the midst of handing several kids during a busy time at the gym. If you are bringing your kids to climb but don’t know how to belay, you can sign your kids up for one of the classes where the staff members will belay them. I haven’t done this myself but I’ve observed the staff being really awesome with kids - they are enthusiastic and very encouraging.

First time I did indoor rock climbing with son and other friends and enjoyed it completely. Though we couldn’t do boulders climbing as there were no trainers available but we could do smaller rock climbing with little instructions given by support staff.

Very clean, but definitely is geared towards top-roping. The bouldering section was small but had about 30+ routes with varying difficulties. I only wish they had more problems in the V0-V2 range, but I digress.
