Yikes! It is unfortunate to read the unfavorable experiences from former members of Helix, especially since my occurrences have been significantly different. My gym journey spans over 15 years as I've had memberships at small and commercial gyms with pros and cons regarding each. While some of the small gyms provided an intimate setting, there was minimal instruction from trainers. Additionally, the commercial gyms were spacious yet overcrowded and required unreasonable membership dues ranging from $30-$50 per month. When I recently began training sessions at Helix, I was only obligated to comply with a month-to-month contract including a low membership fee and a required signature on a concise liability waiver. Although small, the Helix gym packs a mean punch (pun intended)! It encompasses up-to-date equipment for indoor use, and trainers can utilize the outdoor space to incorporate innovative cardio and strength-training activities. Also, the free yoga class held on Saturdays is an additional incentive offered to all members!!! To date, I have been presented with an enthusiastic, clean and professional atmosphere! I must admit, however, that I was extremely skeptical because of the poor reviews, but I am confident that I made the right decision. Needless to say, I am truly grateful for the unwavering support from my amazing trainer and awesome workout team:))))))))))

While visiting Houston, I found the gym to be so different. The Hill is amazing. It's a cool spot to get your workout on if you want something more than your normal gym chains. I will be back.

This place has great trainers here but the owner of Helix Elite Training that's owns the facility is very rude, unprofessional. Please be careful and mindful when joining the gym. I repeat not because of the trainers but because of the owner of the gym. Also be careful about singing any form of contracts as well. Any information you get from the owner make sure it is accurate as well because their will be a lot of drama going on

I have been a faithful gym member to Helix since September of 2015. I was so excited about the atmosphere and the positive environment. Not to mentioned, the trainers (whom she rents the building to are awesome and the location was convenient. However, in the last 2 months starting June 2016 the owner of the gym (Robyn) has been recently solicitating us (the trainers client's) directly for money. I have signed a wavier and have a contract with my trainer, however I do not have anything from the owner Robyn stating she can assess $20 convience fees. When I went to speak with the owner directly, she assured me that the fees were for up keep of the gym, anytime access, free yoga class, free cooking class, etc. At my dismay, I've been paying the owner this convenient fee and she has not kept her end of the bargain. Not only that, she abruptly told my trainer she could no longer train even though my trainer is still under contract and rents this space for her clients. In addition to this owner being unprofessional, the day before she banned my trainer from coming back, she gave all of us contracts to sign, saying they were waivers for injury and allowing her to charge this convenient fee. However, if you look closely at the fine print it states that I'm under contract with the owner, and have to give her a 30 day notice of my cancelation to the gym. The only reason I joined the gym was for my specific trainer, and since my trainer is no longer there I also will not be staying. Its unfortunate because I'm all about supporting small businesses, but her un- professionalism, and business tactics makes it a very uncomfortable environment. Mainly one I will no longer support.
