Equinox River Oaks

Having relocated to Houston for my husband’s work, I was in the market for a new gym. I was considering two gyms at the time. Having the AMEX Platinum Equinox perk and the $100 sign-up bonus promotion (August 2025), I decided to join Equinox. (I am sad I never received the $100 credit though.) Sheena was my appointed Membership Advisor and was exceptional. She was always cheerful and approachable. The gym was very clean and well-maintained. The staff, in-class instructors and coaches were all very friendly. I never had an issue with free parking inside the parkade either. When I signed up, I anticipated that we would be staying in Houston for at least two to three years. However, my husband’s work is relocating us again. Having read numerous negative reviews about cancellations, I was apprehensive and concerned when the time came to cancel. Surprisingly, it was not an issue. I sent an email informing them of our relocation and requested a contract cancellation (under one year). They promptly sent me a cancellation link. I provided the letter of relocation from my husband’s company, which included my name as the spouse. According to the automated email, the review could take up to 3 business days but my cancellation was confirmed the same day. Overall, I had a very positive experience. The only issue was the missing $100 credit lol.

Clean, quiet, and class instructors are top notch. Parking is easy and the staff are friendly. Only complaint is that I wish they offered more group fitness classes after 6pm so that I could come after work. Other than that I very much enjoy this gym.

I really enjoyed my day pass at Equinox gym today! The instructor for the heated flow class is led by Adena. Her dialogue was great, and the class was challenging and fun. And lastly the steam room was incredibly relaxing. Thanks! 10/10

Very nice gym, well maintained, clean and with beautiful work spaces. I came in different days during the week and never overcrowded. The big windows facing green outdoors trees are very beautiful and it made my workouts a nice experience. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Also this club is located in a nice area, close to luxury stores and good restaurants.

Nice, well-maintained Equinox. I visited during off-peak hours, so it never felt too crowded, though I can see how some areas - especially the free weight section - could get cramped at busier times. Parts of the gym are spacious, while others feel a bit tight. The free garage parking is a nice perk.
