I had been procrastinating to join a gym for probably 10 years. I finally decided to join NYCS right near where I work to maximize my opportunities to attend vs. near my home where I cannot trust myself to go consistently. So I scheduled a fitness consultation with Yuri. I was so happy to find how welcoming Yuri was when I arrived. He was so thorough in my evaluation and thoughtful to my personal needs for my fitness level. I’m 48, overweight and haven’t worked out in a long time. I wanted to get some personal training sessions at least to start to get me back on track. Yes it can be expensive esp for a tight budget but I was so glad to find a short term plan that worked for me. Then I met Jayder. PT fitness extraordinaire. I’m about half way through my PT journey (chose a 3 month plan) and I’m so grateful for him. He can be tough but super careful and considerate to my fitness level. He is so knowledgeable about fitness and muscle groups in general but also exactly how much to push you to get better and better. 5 star experience at E23rd St NYSC.

I’m visiting for a week and purchased the two-week pass. The staff are courteous, respectful, and professional, and the facility is very clean. The downstairs area is well equipped for heavy lifting, with solid machines for back, bench, squats, and deadlifts, along with a great variety of grip handles and attachments. Upstairs offers a nice view of the city and additional machines for strength training. The gym has a quiet, focused atmosphere—headphones and a lock for the lockers are recommended not required. Overall, I had an awesome workout and look forward to returning whenever I’m back in New York.

The New York Sports Club on 113 E 23rd Street is an outstanding gym, and the staff are what truly make this location exceptional. Jonathan is always welcoming, professional, and helpful, he sets a positive tone the moment you walk in and makes members feel valued and supported. Yuri is equally impressive, consistently attentive and approachable, and always willing to assist with questions or needs around the club. Demetrious stands out for his professionalism and dedication. He goes above and beyond to ensure the gym runs smoothly and that members have a great experience every time they visit. His friendly attitude and strong work ethic really add to the overall quality of the club. Coach James is phenomenal. He is knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in helping members improve their fitness. His guidance, attention to proper form, and encouraging coaching style make workouts both effective and enjoyable. Overall, the NYSC at 113 E 23rd Street is clean, well-maintained, and staffed by an exceptional team. Thanks to Jonathan, Yuri, Demetrious, and Coach James, this gym offers a supportive, professional, and welcoming environment. I highly recommend this location to anyone serious about their fitness journey.

James Nader at New York Sports Club is a terrific personal trainer. I just started working with James after laying off exercise for more than a year. He took the time to get to know my background as well as fitness goals. After assessing my current fitness and form we started on a workout plan. James has a passion for fitness and is very positive and patient. His communications skills are top notch, providing me with a clear understanding of an exercise and its importance. I highly recommend James for personal training for all skill levels.

I had been having a tough time motivating to get back into the gym consistently and chose to try personal training. What a phenomenal investment. Jader is a fantastic personal trainer and has helped me exceed any goals I had set for myself and beyond so far. Yuri did a great job setting up the right program. In addition I’ve seen Louise doing a great job with her personal training clients while there and Jonathan at the front always greets everyone with a smile. Great gym and personal training highly recommended if you are thinking about it!
