Went to a class this weekend with Jameson. It was my first time at the studio/ NY pilates. Not only was the work out challenging but it also didn’t feel rushed which I appreciated. The instructor was paying attention to everyone’s form and providing input as needed. On another note the studio is absolutely beautiful, tranquil. Can’t wait to go back for another class!

My favorite NYP location! The West Village NYP has such a great vibe and great instructors. There’s a lot more space here vs. locations like SoHo, which I particularly like. The classes are always on time and I always get a great workout. All of the instructors are wonderful, Jameson is one of my personal favorites - she makes class fun with her upbeat personality.

If you’re looking to go to your first Pilates class, or any Pilates class for that matter, DO NOT come to New York Pilates West Village. I took my first ever Pilates class here last Monday with Will Valles at 1:30 pm and I had the absolute worst experience at this fitness class, than any other fitness class in NYC. I consider myself to be very fit as I exercise often, but wanted to try Pilates as a way to strengthen my body and to try something new. When I entered the facility, I wasn’t even greeted until a few minutes later, when a woman came up to me, seemingly with an attitude asking if I was new. I told her that I was. Not only was I not even given a tour in the studio or shown where to put my items (something most studios do in NYC), I had to ask her myself to help me purchase a water as she was on her phone while seemingly ignoring everyone around her. Then, a couple minutes before the class, the instructor Will, comes out of the studio and the same woman told him I was new. Once I entered inside the studio, Will only took two seconds to show me how the reformer worked. This is not a safe practice! Not only that, but when the class began, he didn’t teach from the reformer and just stood there giving everyone commands, and when no one understood what he was saying, he’d come up to us to correct our movements. Halfway through the class, I basically gave up trying because I knew that if I attempted to do the exercises improperly, I might injure myself as he wasn’t showing us the proper way to do them. There were only around four people taking the class and I understand why as the service and teaching was horrible. I will never be coming back here again.
