24 Hour Fitness
About
This facility offers both gym equipment and yoga studio spaces, providing members with multiple fitness disciplines under one roof. The location operates around the clock, offering convenience for those with varying schedules. However, recent member experiences highlight significant maintenance and cleanliness challenges that impact the overall value of the membership.
reviewsWhat Members Say
Members consistently report severe maintenance and cleanliness problems, including broken treadmills and equipment that stays unrepaired for months. The men's bathrooms are described as disgusting with persistent odors, mold, and urine, while hot water has been unavailable in showers for over a month. Pool users express health concerns due to roof leaks contaminating the water and uncertainty about chemical balance, compounded by unresponsive management when calling with inquiries. Although some acknowledge the gym's convenient location and past quality, current conditions make the membership feel overpriced compared to discount gyms with similar equipment.

They really let this place go. Anytime I go the entire gym smells, at least half of the threadmills has been broken for over a year, and they dont bother to fix it. The basketball court is alwaya full of guests and not members. I wont me renewing my membership once it expires unless they actually try to make it better. The gym was really nice when it opened not anymore.

The men’s bathroom in this gym is disgusting and nothing is being done about it. I was there this morning and it reeked of urine. They have been working on the hot water but still not up and running. I live in town and enjoy the convenience to proximity but I’m gonna try commuting to Ramsey because I can’t take the filth anymore. Ownership has been getting complaints for a long time and still hasn’t made cleanliness a priority.

No hot water for 6 weeks and you have to shower before entering the pool. Major roof leak with dirty water falling into the pool, mixed with who knows what (asbestos, lead paint?). I use the pool for physical therapy following a car accident, it’s why I joined the gym 5 months ago. After the deplorable conditions this week I’m starting to be concerned if they are keeping up with chemicals in the pool. I think I will bring in a test kit and do a spot check this week…if there is hot water. I tried to call and inquire if the hot water was back two days in a row and nobody answers the phone. What is up with this place? I don’t want to see this location close down, but I also don’t want to get sick if I use my membership🥲

My experience at 24 Hour Fitness has steadily declined and appears to worsen each year. Although the facility was not perfectly clean in 2022, it offered far better equipment, including two fully functional Smith Machines and quality machines for back training. Following the recent renovation, several useful machines were removed and replaced with equipment that is rarely utilized. The only remaining Smith Machine is frequently out of service and stays under repair for extended periods. Furthermore, the bathrooms are consistently below acceptable cleanliness standards, and overall maintenance of the equipment seems neglected. This location has tremendous potential due to its prime location; however, it no longer delivers the complete workout experience it once provided. I sincerely hope ownership and management will take the necessary steps to restore the quality and standards this facility should represent.

Unfortunately this location is one of the worst of the franchise in NY and NJ. Always dirty, mold in bathroom and I just called ahead of time to find out that even after a month there is no hot water in the shower room. Equiptment is great but for that you can pay a fraction and go to a discount gym. The bread and butter is the Sauna but whats the use of it if you gotta take a freezing shower afterwards?
