About

This Brooklyn fitness facility offers a focused gym environment with specialized boxing training. The gym features a main boxing ring, two dedicated boxing rooms, and a selection of standard gym equipment, though some members note the space is relatively compact with fewer machines than larger chain gyms. Training options include general gym access and structured boxing coaching, with some members praising the respectful and supportive atmosphere among fellow gym-goers. The facility aims to provide a community-focused training space, though recent operational changes have impacted some long-standing programs.

reviewsWhat Members Say

Members report a mixed experience with this gym. Some praise the respectful community atmosphere and the opportunity for collaborative training, while others describe serious customer service failures including rude front desk interactions and unresponsive management. Specific concerns include a major price increase that some find unjustified, inflexible membership policies with activation fees, and occasional equipment maintenance delays. The recent departure of a boxing training program due to a contract dispute with ownership has also affected the gym's offerings.

Moving to a new home at Fight Factory! To all our incredible clients and the community at NYCFitness Club: I’m writing to share that we are officially moving our training operations to Fight Factory (Ocean Parkway & Neptune Ave). While we will deeply miss the facility and the wonderful people we’ve trained alongside, this move was not our decision. Unfortunately, the owner of NYCFitness Club chose to change our agreed-upon arrangements, resulting in a breach of our contract and our immediate departure. We want to apologize for any confusion this sudden shift has caused. Our priority has always been your progress and the community we built together. If you are looking for a positive environment to train—or if you’re ready to step up and compete in USA Boxing competitions—we welcome you to join us at our new location. The energy is great, and the focus remains entirely on the athletes. We can’t wait to see you in the ring at Fight Factory!

I would like to start off by saying My MAIN reason I’m writing the reviews is the recent price change, it’s absolutely ridiculous. $650 for the year from $420, it’s so absurd and $85 a month. I understand the $400 price tag because that’s how the gym ends up being more spacious and it is, when I go 4-5 pm there are about like less than 30 people including the boxing class. But these price changes are very awful for a mediocre gym, you can get a nice boxing bag at crunch fitness for a much cheaper price If this were a year or two ago I’d probably put a higher rating. The gym itself is not bad, it’s pretty small in terms of a regular gym with fewer machines and a big boxing ring and two boxing rooms. Sometimes a few machines end up broken but it takes a while to have them replaced. The front desk is calm and kind. The cleaning lady has an attitude problem and constantly complains about things that aren’t even my fault. The coaching lesson prices are ridiculous, you’re better off learning from YouTube.

Worst front desk experience I’ve had in NYC fitness club. I called with a simple question and the employee cut me off and hung up on me. I came in right after to clarify and was spoken to in a rude, dismissive way (“we’re busy”). When I asked for a complaint/feedback option, I was basically told to come back another day. I also emailed management and received no acknowledgement or response- which is shameful for a business that takes people’s money. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. If you respect yourself and your time, I can’t recommend this gym.

I was previously a member and wanted to reactivate my membership, but because I missed their arbitrary 3 month window by a few days, they demanded an $80 activation fee and refused to waive it under any circumstances. No flexibility, no customer service, just “policy is policy.” For a gym, that’s pretty disappointing. If you ever plan to pause and come back, be ready to get hit with extra fees.
