reviewsWhat Members Say

Members describe Tangerine Yoga as their happy place, praising the challenging yet accessible heated classes that combine strength work with flowing sequences. They highlight exceptional instructors by name: Maddie for clear, intentional teaching; Laura for creating emotional peace and remembering members personally; Liz for dynamic energy; and Hannah for restorative sessions. Reviewers consistently mention the warm, welcoming community, the studio's cleanliness and amenities, and its accessibility for non-native English speakers. While one member noted an initially crowded class with an unmemorable instructor, this was an isolated experience that didn't reflect their subsequent overwhelmingly positive experiences.

I took a heated strength yoga class and it was definitely challenging in the best way. The combination of strength work and flowing yoga sequences pushed me physically while also helping me feel grounded and centered. Maddie was an excellent instructor. He gave clear, encouraging direction and created a really smooth, intentional flow throughout the class. It felt thoughtfully structured and motivating without being overwhelming. I left feeling strong, focused, and accomplished. I would absolutely take this class again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, well-balanced hot yoga experience. 🧘🏽‍♀️🔥

I’ve been coming to Tangerine Yoga for a while now, and what stands out the most to me is their strong sense of community. It feels so different from other studios when the owner, Laura, remembers your name after just one or two visits — it’s warm, personal, and truly special. To be honest, my first visit didn’t leave a strong impression. The class was crowded, and the instructor was just okay (no longer work here) — not bad, but not memorable either. So I didn’t return for almost a year. But everything changed the second time I walked in — it was Laura’s class. She was completely different. Her presence, energy, and teaching style drew me in. I signed up for a membership right after. Her classes carried me through one of the most difficult times of my life. I was being stalked by someone, and I was constantly in pain, stressed, and afraid for my safety and my family’s. But somehow, Laura’s class gave me peace. It helped me breathe again — physically and emotionally. Another teacher I love is Liz. Her energy is completely different from Laura’s — like yin and yang. One calm, one dynamic. Their classes perfectly match my different needs for yoga, and I deeply appreciate both. Even though I’ve lived in the U.S. for years, my English hasn’t improved much. But their classes are very friendly to non-native speakers. Laura and Liz, in particular, make everyone feel welcome. Now I’m preparing to head back to China, but I want to leave this note of gratitude and recommendation: If you’re looking for a yoga space that’s healing, warm, and truly human — Tangerine 🍊 is it. I hope it stays around for a long, long time. P.S. There’s a yoga teacher here named Cissy who speaks Mandarin. She helped me better understand and follow Liz’s instructions. Truly grateful!

Amazing yoga studio! I’ve been looking for one that’s true to the practice rather than trying to attract with loud music in the background. My favorite class here might be the flow and restore with Hannah. 30 min of slow flow and 30 min of restore - a great stretch after work on a Friday! Also, appreciate that the studio provides mats, blocks, towels and a cold essential oil towel at the end of class. Everything is modern and clean! I took the class on Classpass but it seems worth it to book directly with the studio. Will be back!

the yoga studio i was desperate to find! i moved to new york 8 months ago and have been on the hunt for a new studio to join ever since. i’ve tried multiple spots in brooklyn and Tangerine is by far my favorite. the people are welcoming, the room is heated, and the classes are difficult enough to be quite challenging but certainly not impossible. definitely recommend!

I fell out of love with yoga years ago and just thought it wasn’t my thing. My sister brought me into tangerine as a guest and I fell completely in love. The instructors, the music, the heat, and movement all combined make this space my happy place. There are great class packages but I ended up with a monthly unlimited yoga membership which includes 2 guest passes. Totally worth it. Thanks tangerine! ❤️
