This studio and its instructors have changed how I work out. I’m actually excited to come to class and motivated to push myself. I think this is because the staff are very warm, supportive, and encouraging. The instructors know that I have arthritis and bulging discs in my spine and they help me modify some of the exercises to keep me safe whilst also making me stronger. After 20 classes, I’m doing things I didn’t think my body could do. One hundred percent recommend Studio Pilates International South Slope!

I'd been wanting to start a new fitness routine for myself and I'm so glad I did that at Studio Pilates in South Slope! I have some health issues and everyone at the studio has been extremely considerate and accommodating, which makes me feel very safe coming to class here. Every class has been challenging, but in a safe way where I can tell my body was pushed but not overexerted. (They also get bonus points for being a quick walk from my house!)

I started going to Studio Pilates South Slope a little under 2 years ago, and I’ve never looked back. I used to struggle with committing to a consistent exercise routine, and now this is the longest I’ve stuck with a form of exercise since childhood! I attribute this to the kind and motivating instructors, the class format, the convenient location (close to multiple subway lines), and the positive effects the workouts have had on my body and energy. A bit more info on the class format: There are tv screens around the room such that whichever reformer you choose, you can see a screen. Every exercise is displayed on the screen and described with a voiceover. This is useful for visualizing exactly what you should be doing, and it’s especially helpful because the instructor is free to walk around and make adjustments/ give tips all of class. These tips and adjustments really help me tune into my body and work out in the most effective way. Some people hesitate to start reformer pilates because it is a more expensive form of exercise, but the studio offers discounted class packs on multiple occasions throughout the year, they have a discount for teachers, and even without those perks I’ve found the price to be more affordable than many other studios. Definitely give Studio Pilates a try - your body will thank you!

I came to Studio Pilates after a serious injury that limited my movement for over a year. The workout is displayed on screens around the studio which means the instructor can focus on ensuring correct technique and offering adjustments due to particular injuries. After a year at Studio Pilates I have built significant strength, improved my posture, and decreased my neck pain. I'm really grateful for the studios focus on strength and mobility - rather than on weight loss or looking a certain way. The staff (and owner!) are all encouraging, respectful, knowledgable, and warm. The owner makes a significant effort to make the space more financially accessible through discounts, special events, and packages. That being said, it is ultimately a very high-cost (albeit high reward) way to exercise. Studio Pilates is a stretch for my budget - but has been beyond worth it for me. They've got me hooked :)

I can't say enough good things about this studio! The instructors are always so upbeat and attentive to adjustments you need or injuries you have. I had a really rough year with a very unexpected knee injury that took much longer than expected to heal. Getting back to classes was incredibly difficult but the instructors here were so well versed in what to do and how to help me adjust as well as what to pay attention to.
