About
PureGym Crown Heights is a gym facility in Brooklyn, NY that operates with a technology-focused approach to access and management. Members check in and out exclusively through a mobile app, as there is no traditional front desk or reception area. The gym features standard workout equipment and maintains clean bathroom facilities, though some reviewers note the color scheme and equipment selection feel more geared toward male members. Water is available for purchase at $2.50 for 20 ounces, as the water fountain has been non-functional for an extended period according to multiple reports.
reviewsWhat Members Say
Members report mixed experiences with the gym's technology-driven approach, praising the generally friendly staff but expressing significant concerns about maintenance and accessibility. Multiple reviewers mention the water fountain has been broken for years, forcing members to purchase bottled water, while others note equipment appears worn with torn cushions and disorganized accessories. The scanner entry system receives criticism for being a potential fire hazard and creating an impersonal atmosphere, though some appreciate the 24/7 access convenience. Specific staff members receive praise for being awesome and helpful, while one morning/afternoon employee with puffy hair is noted for having an unpleasant attitude.

Love this gym and 90% of the staff are pretty good, there’s just this one women with puffy hair in the morning/afternoon that seems like she doesn’t want to be there. She’s not rude or anything she just doesn’t have a pleasant attitude towards the people that come in and she’s always on her phone. Just wanted to make management aware of this so she can be aware.

review update. They spend all this money on scanner doors that are a fire hazard, restrict flow in and out of the gym, and retain more of the “gym funk”, but the water fountain still doesn’t work. WATER FOUNTAIN DOES NOT WORK. HASN’T WORKED FOR YEARS. IT IS over 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE. You are forced to buy water. …….. staff is awesome P.S. FIX THE WATER FOUNTAIN. WE ARE DYING.

I ❤️ this place when it was Blink fitness! Even if it wasn't "24/7" . There have been many changes but not for the good! There is no longer a front desk with reception but rather a revolving "door" this IS a fire hazard where people HAVE gotten stuck in. You can only check in/out with your app..There isn't any live people to confer with on the phone for customer service..All calls are directed to an app. There is an "email" but mine has not been answered everytime I've written It's supposed to be a unisex gym but the colors scheme , workout hubs/equipment are more geared to men. Not female friendly at all. The bathrooms are clean . If you forget your water your out of luck. Buy 20oz for 2.50$ . Too many cost saving methods by the owners that makes this gym very impersonal. Basically it's a "do it yourself " via the website. Nice people that work there. If it weren't close to my house walking distance , I'd definitely cancel in a heart beat ! It's NOT worth traveling for at ALL There are many no frills gyms in NYC for the same price that are much much more personal. Overall it's not inviting

So this was a blink gym before and it was much better then!!!! I don't understand how they spend all this money for these fancy doors to get in and out of the gym with an app but let the inside go to hell??? The equipment now looks rundown, there were no ankle straps available just a box of junk that you have to sift through if you want something, and things were just thrown every where next to machines. There were tears in the cushions on the equipment and the two people that worked there looked as if they didn't care just there to collect a check. The overall vibe is different than before and not in a good way!! Thank God I still have a blink gym by my house in Houston but I'm going to have to find a different gym in Brooklyn ASAP!
