About

Life Time in Brooklyn offers a comprehensive fitness experience with disciplines including yoga studios, gyms, and Olympic weightlifting facilities. Members appreciate the wide range of amenities such as cycling, swimming, co-working spaces, massage and cryo beds, and access to multiple locations. The layout is praised for being smart and convenient, making workouts more efficient compared to other gyms with less thoughtful designs. Many reviewers highlight specific coaches by name, noting that instructors like Jen for yoga and sculpt and Hannah for CTR provide challenging and enjoyable classes that help justify the membership cost. The community atmosphere is frequently mentioned, with staff described as friendly, professional, and welcoming, particularly noting individuals like Darell who runs the location and creates a positive environment. Events hosted at the Atlantic Avenue location, especially during summer, add to the social appeal for those seeking a gym with a community feel. For hybrid athletes or those with diverse fitness interests, Life Time covers needs from strength training to yoga and swimming in one facility. The co-working area allows members to integrate work with their fitness routines, adding practical value for busy professionals. Overall, the gym positions itself as a luxury experience with extensive amenities, though experiences can vary by location and time of visit. Members who avoid peak hours often report better experiences with less crowding and more accessible equipment. The ability to book classes across locations provides flexibility for those with changing schedules, enhancing the value of membership for active individuals in Brooklyn. However, potential members should be aware that class spots can fill quickly, requiring advance booking to secure a place in popular sessions.

reviewsWhat Members Say

Members praise the friendly and professional staff, with specific shoutouts to coaches like Jen and Hannah for their excellent classes. Many appreciate the wide range of amenities, smart layout, and community events, especially at the Atlantic Avenue location. However, significant concerns include cleanliness issues like dirty facilities and empty wipe bins, overcrowding during peak hours requiring advance class bookings, and inconsistent experiences between locations. Some find the membership price high relative to these drawbacks, though the quality of coaching and amenities often helps justify the cost for dedicated members.

As a hybrid athlete, I love the fact that Lifetime covers all my needs. From strength to yoga, cycling, and swimming. The facilities are clean, the staff is friendly, and there's even a nice co-working spot where I can squeeze some work in before or after a workout. All in all its just great. Oh, and my water bottle pictured is a SHVITZ, look 'em up. I'll never go back to another sports bottle after trying this one. game changer

This is a great gym with an incredibly friendly staff, from the front desk team to the concierge manager and personal trainers. Everyone is professional, respectful, and generally keeps to themselves, but they’ll absolutely go out of their way to accommodate your needs when asked. If you’re looking for a community-style gym where you can make great friends, the Atlantic location—and the Dumbo location as well—are a great place to start. The Atlantic location especially hosts lots of events, particularly during the summertime. #Lifetime

I love this place. Clean. Friendly staff. So many amenities and great equipment but the layout is also smart. Too many gyms are laid out in ways that make it really inconvenient and annoying to workout there. This is not one of those. Love the co-working area. The massage and cryo beds. Highly recommend. Also worth noting, i do not go during peak hours and I'm sure that impacts my experience.

2 months in here are my pros and cons. Cons: - very dirty facilities toilet papers everywhere, hair everywhere it’s a mess in the woman’s bathroom. they are always low on towels as well - very very very loud music playing when you’re in the class you can’t barely hear the instructors i don’t know why that’s a thing at lifetime but it is they even offer earplugs for you to use while in the class so weird and never heard of. - classes are average i’ve only taken yoga and ctr so i’ll rate then 6.8/10 overall - you have to be very careful with your belongings someone stole my Alo yoga mat strap there. so make sure you’re putting your code and no one is looking while you’re doing it idk how people paying $350 membership justify stealing a $40 strap - a bit overpriced for what you get. it gets very crowded there and you need to book classes a week in advance otherwise you are on waitlists all the time - their cancellation class policy is horrible. 3h in advance for any class and 12 hours in advance for pilates or you get charged a fee so when you’re locked in you better show up rain or snow. Pros: - Darell who runs this place is amazing, very kind always saying hi and welcoming - Jen the yoga/sculpt coach and hannah for ctr are the best here their classes are so challenging they almost make you justify the price - access to all locations is a plus if you have a flexible schedule overall i’m debating whether or not i should cancel my membership soon… too many cons. i really wish they would address how dirty the amenities are at least considering all the complains and how expensive the membership is

Lifetime Dumbo is top-tier offers a true luxury gym experience. After moving nearby, I switched to Lifetime Atlantic Avenue and was appalled by the condition of the facility. The concierge greeted me with “what’s up,” which immediately set the wrong tone. The wipe bins are consistently empty, the disposal bins overflow with used wipes, and soiled wipes are left on the floor. I watched several personal trainers use equipment and walk away without cleaning it; something that would never happen at the Dumbo location. I bring my own spay sanitizer and paper towel sheets. Members also sit on equipment for extended periods scrolling on their phones, making it difficult to get a workout in. On a positive note, the classes are enjoyable and something I look forward to.
