Great experience here as a new climber (V0-V2) The bouldering routes are thoughtfully set and help beginners practice a range of techniques.

Really big rock climbing gym. Good assortment of bouldering with many walls and difficult ratings. There’s something for everyone. Staff is very nice. Would definitely recommend coming !

My friends and I decided to try bouldering for the first time at Brooklyn Boulders. For first-time climbers, this was an entertaining and exciting adventure! Upon entry, you will be checked in with the staff. I highly recommend filling out the waiver form online, but you can fill it out there too. If you plan on doing the high rock-climbing, you have to rent the harness. While chalk is optional, I highly recommend renting a bag too. It does help! In the front and middle of the building, you will see several tall rock-climbing areas. You can get a staff to help assist your pulley. You can even attend classes, which I plan on doing when I come back. The other areas are for bouldering. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the staff. Otherwise, start at the beginner level of V0 and work your way up. Basically, your hands start at the tape by the holds near the bottom and you finish the climb by having both hands touch the uppermost hold where the tape is. Not only can you do bouldering and climbing, but there is a small gym in the basement for you to workout and do yoga! With a fancy hydration station and multiple lockers throughout the building, this was the perfect place for first-timers like my friends and I. Just a side note, please be respectful to each other and try not to block anyone's way or idle on the mats! Other than that, I hope you have as much fun as my friends and I. Your hands will get calloused and may be sore for a few days, so fair warning for all.

Brooklyn Boulders Queensbridge is a fantastic rock climbing gym that’s well worth checking out, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced climber. The space is super clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. There’s a great mix of bouldering problems and climbing routes with varying levels of difficulty, so you can really challenge yourself or take it easy depending on your mood. The vibe is friendly and welcoming, and the staff are always around to help out or offer tips if you’re new to climbing. It’s a great place to train, hang out, or just get a good workout in a unique and fun way. There’s also space for stretching, strength training, and a few quieter areas if you just want to chill between climbs. Overall, it’s a clean, spacious, and motivating environment. Definitely a go-to spot if you’re in Queens and looking for a solid climbing gym.

The gym is fine. But check your credit card statements if you attempt to cancel your membership, you may still be charged. Me and my partner signed up last fall for 3 months under a promotion. We knew were were going to be out of town in 2026, so we ensured that the membership was not going to be renewed. The front desk member ensured that was the case. It was not cancelled. We fortunately went to check before we left. The memberships were still active, so we requested cancellation AGAIN. Weird, but mistakes can happen. Two months later, I notice I'm still being charged for the one of the two membership. I email them and while they do cancel, they refuse to refund the two unused months. - They claim to have no record of cancellation (despite us going in person TWICE). - Therefore they can't refund because we didn't request cancellation more than 15 days in advance (we requested well over 90 days the first time, 20 days the second time). - They then claim that their policy requires an online cancellation form (we were never told this by front desk, and any reasonable person would expect that an in-person cancellation is sufficient and takes precedence over an online form). To demonstrate our good intentions, we submitted evidence of our plans to be out of town predating signing up for the membership. It should be clear that we're not trying to be weaseling our way out of forgetting to cancel. Not that any such evidence should be required. Whether by mistake or willingfully, they didn't cancel both membership on TWO occasion when we requested it, well in advance. This business does not take ownership of their mistakes and is trying to pass it onto the customer under the guise of "but policy says!". And I believe I'm being generous calling it a mistake, because the alternative is that they straight up lied to us. I've had memberships at several climbing gyms over the last 10 years. Never have I had such issues before. I will not be renewing when I come back to NY.
