Came by for the first time amazing gym rare machines in here loved every second of my workout! Owner is very accommodating and welcoming! Open during the blizzard which is 10/10! Old school gym always beats a commercial gym! 10/10 would recommend!

He’s patient, encouraging, and always knows how to challenge me in the best way. He doesn’t just train you, he teaches you which I’ve always appreciated! I’ve seen incredible progress since starting. Enjoy working out here, the owner is nice, and I always feel welcomed.

This gym falls short compared to others in the area, especially when it comes to machines. Until very recently, the cable stacks didn’t even have weight numbers on them, so you either had to guess or count the plates. Even now, the cables still don’t function properly—when you insert the pin, it often sticks, and you end up lifting two or three extra plates unless you kick them loose first. I’ve done the same exact cable exercises at nearby gyms like NYSC, Planet Fitness, and Vibe Fitness, and the difference is obvious. At those gyms, the cable stacks feel smooth and consistent, and I can actually get a proper contraction. Here, that’s just not the case. Some new equipment has been added, but it doesn’t really add anything meaningful. Most of it is old, used Cybex machines that don’t feel great, along with spin bikes that no one really uses. The one genuinely good addition is the red T-bar row in the corner. Other than that, the additions feel redundant since similar equipment already existed. The main saving grace of this gym is the free-weight area. They have a Thompson fat pad, which is a big plus, and calibrated plates, which I really appreciate. If you train strictly with barbells and dumbbells, you can make it work. That said, even sticking to free weights has issues. There’s no men’s bathroom, and the ventilation is a huge problem. The air quality is so bad that it either smells like urine or there’s barely any air to breathe. There’s also visible mold on the ceiling, which is concerning. One more basic limitation is leg training. The current leg extension setup makes it hard to run a proper quad-focused leg day—almost any standard leg extension machine would make a big difference here. I do want to give credit where it’s due: the owner is very nice and always willing to help if you ask. This gym has a lot of potential. I really wish the focus would be on the fundamentals. Decent machines would be great, but honestly, if the cable machines worked properly, ventilation was fixed, and a usable leg extension was added, you could do almost anything here. With a few core improvements, this place could be much better.
