I had previously given this gym a 1 star review with harsh critique and they definitely took it to heart and improved the gym. That or they were worried about the brand new competitor moving in close by, but there has been a miraculous amount of change in the past year. The gym seems to be cleaned fairly often with a nice open area to do whatever exercises. Changed since first review 1. Equipment leather replaced 2. Safety concerns like missing screws and jagged metal ends on equipment has been replaced or fixed 3. Equipment moved to better spots in the gym(subjective) 4. More disinfectant spray bottles placed on every corner to keep good hygiene 5. New weight benches, treadmills, barbells, and barbell weights 6. Better sorting area for equipment/ attachments 7. Fresh paint and newly replaced water fountain with dispenser for water bottles 8. Carpet was cleaned, but still stained Wishlist 1. More lockable lockers instead of open cubbies 2. A standing calf machine 3. A dedicated area for deadlifts and more bumper plates (the new barbell plates seem to be a soft material but that could still damage the floor doing heavier weights) 4. The old weight scale back. (There is a new electronic weight scale in a changing room, but it's missing its power adapter and uses 4 AA batteries instead that are unreliable) 5. A banana heavy bag Problems that persist 1. Knurling on some dumbbells are rubbed off making them slippery in the hands Another thing people commonly mention as a problem for Anytime Fitness is the lack of staff during business hours. When people want to cancel their membership there is no one there to do it. I haven't experienced this problem personally, but I thought I had to mention it. Overall the place has turned into a 5 star gym with these changes. It isn't perfect, but it's damn near close. I typically train at night and I have seen an increase of people coming in during those hours so this Anytime Fitness must be doing something right.

I just went to an ATF gym in Thousand Oaks CA. I was very disappointed it was dirty and a lot of equipment in disarray, they get a rating of 2. My gym in North hills, Reno is extremely clean, equipment is where it belongs. And I just love it. I was so disappointed to go to this other gym, I have to be there for the next 2 and a half weeks. I give my gym a rating of 10.

About a month or so ago, signs were posted that they were going to be doing constructive to improve our gym experience. So far, those 'improvements' have been a newly painted gym, new TVs, a couple new Olympic bars on the main floor, and the movement of equipment. None of these things improve my gym experience, especially not the paint, the TVs (huge waste of money between the TVs and cable service), and the current placement of equipment. The equipment placement sucks, especially near the abductor machine, the solo cable machine, and the hacksaw. You're either extremely close to others or hit yourself on equipment if you're not analyzing your every move. What would improve my gym experience is clean restrooms, improved or new equipment, and the rearranging of equipment. It would also be nice if they enforced rules and gym etiquette. There's an Islander guy who comes in the early morning and hogs 3 to 5 machines at once! It is such an inconvenience to everyone since there's basically one of everything! Once Planet Fitness opens, it'll be interesting to see how many people cancel and switch. I know it's a high probability for myself!

This is not a gym you go to because it’s a good gym. It’s now a gym you go to because, it’s convenient and close. I joined this gym when it very first opened and was a member off and on throughout the years. The gym itself has lost a lot of it’s amenities, including some machines, all the treadmills and ellipticals used to have tvs, there use to be nice comfortable seating areas, and a lot of other things that were either sold off, tossed or probably removed and taken home. On top of all that.. recently I went to use the restroom and left my water bottle by the stair master. After I realized that I went to go get it and it was gone. I checked both of the lost and found locations and it wasn’t there. After walking around the gym for about 5mins looking for it, I walk past the trainers office and it was sitting on his desk right next to his water bottle. Was very strange to grab someone’s belongings and take it in to your office and not even place it in one of the two lost and founds that are on the way to said office. So you should probably watch your belongings at this establishment. Some shady personal trainer might scoop it up and steal it for themselves. This gym is not worth $51 a month which is what I pay monthly. That’s up $21 from what I used to pay when I first joined and you get less. This gym is all about taking your money and giving you the least amount possible. Any awards this gym may or may not have on the wall was awarded under management and staff that knew your name and made an effort to gain those awards. Now they're begging for 5 star reviews on google. Do your wallet a favor and join the new place down the street
