Red Rock Climbing Center
About
Red Rock Climbing Center offers both gym and rock climbing disciplines in a multi-level facility that blends old-school charm with modern features. The gym provides lead climbing, auto belay, and top rope options, though reviewers note the rope section is primarily focused on lead and auto belay with limited top rope setups. Bouldering areas are well-lit and easier to navigate, featuring unique elements like a tunnel and small rooms at different levels that create a fun community atmosphere. The facility includes a board room, various wall angles, a roof section, and a small training area, making it suitable for climbers of all heights and skill levels.
reviewsWhat Members Say
Members consistently praise the gym's welcoming atmosphere and beginner-friendly environment where climbers of all heights feel capable. The guided climbing experiences with instructors like Dan receive exceptional feedback for their safety focus and tailored outdoor routes. Reviewers highlight the unique facility layout with its nostalgic charm, fun community vibe, and well-regarded bouldering sections. Some concerns include darker rope areas that challenge color differentiation, occasionally lax safety perceptions, and lead climbs with grading that feels more like ranges than precise ratings.

First off I’m 5’ tall. This was the first gym I’ve been to in Vegas and it was great. I never felt like I couldn’t climb something because I’m short. The gym starts out with an old school feel as you enter and see holds all over the walls/roof. Going left along the first floor had a new board room set up and even further was a new bouldering wall setup. Both were great, with many variations in wall degrees. 2nd floor was awesome, as it has a roof section that climbs up into it and a boulder room that was small but super fun. 3rd section has another old school feeling boulder wall with slab. Going up from there, you’ll get into their training section. It’s small but it works. Overall as an old school climber, it gave me a nostalgic experience. 7/10.

Had an incredible experience here. Had been bouldering for about a year, no outdoor experience yet. I booked a half-day of guided climbing and could not have hoped for a better day with Dan. After some orientation, Dan took us out into the conservation area, taught me a ton about safe climbing, and got me on some incredible routes which were great for my climbing level. While my climbing felt pushed, never felt unsafe at all. Closed out the day driving back through the scenic drive and hearing some more about the history of the climbs in the area. He also gave me some tips about bouldering in the Kraft Boulders area. Rented a pad here the next day for bouldering which was another incredible experience. Will definitely be back here for more guided climbing and rentals too.

We tried auto belay, lead, and bouldering. The moderate lead climbs we tried had nice flow and enjoyable movement. Grades above 5.10 did not specify abcd, but some had a plus or minus. Although I generally prefer ropes, the bouldering was a highlight. The tunnel was unique and the small rooms at different levels made for a fun community vibe. Safety seemed pretty lax.

Gyms like this are rare to find. The small facility is absolutely packed with some classic feeling climbs. Very beginner friendly too! There were a few families with small kids having a great time. Lead climbs were a little stiff, the grading was more of a range rather than an accurate grade. Boulders were a pretty soft (I only climb v5 though) Only complaint was one other climber was beta spraying like an irrigation system for a golf course. But you can’t blame Red Rock Climbing Center for that.

Pretty sweet home grown climbing gym that's definitely continuing to expand. Rope section is primarily lead and auto belay, so definitely keep this in mind if you are planning to top rope. They do have some top ropes set up, but they were pretty far from the wall so you are probably just better off doing auto belay. The rope section is darker than the bouldering sections. I am colorblind and had a difficult time differentiating the color holds on the wall. Bouldering sections were a bit easier to tell apart. Overall, happy with my climbing experience here and may check it out next time I'm in the area.
